Let me guess—you’re exhausted, anxious, emotionally fried, and maybe wondering if you missed something along the way? Maybe you start to question: “Am I cut out for this?”
Don’t worry. You’re not the problem. You’re the symptom.
As I wrap up my 10th year in practice, I can’t help but reflect back over the past decade. I’ve done everything right. I followed the evidence, hit my “productivity” targets, and gave up countless nights and weekends in the name of student loan payments, timely documentation, and compassionate patient care.
And when it all stopped working (the first time)—I didn’t get help. I got gaslit.
It sounds like you’re just depressed.
Just practice better self care.
You need better boundaries.
We had it way worse back in my day.
Translation: It’s not us, it’s you.
But here’s the thing. When those “solutions” failed to lead me to any sense of relief—when I burned out a 2nd, 3rd, even 4th time—what was suggested? The same robotic bullshit. Over time, it became ever-so-clear that the system of healthcare that I had spent so much of my life attaining and defending was, itself, “sick” and spreading like a cancer across its staff and patients.
This blog is my rebellion. More and more individuals are waking up in the ashes of burnout and realizing they never had a mental health crisis—they had a clarity crisis.
I’ll be writing about:
-Why a patient-centered, holistic healthcare system cannot exist within a capitalistic society
-Disillusionment with hustle culture
-The “spiritual” aftermath of burnout
-Reconnection to the “soul” and your “true self”
-Why I believe psychedelics may be the key to many individuals’ recovery
So if you’ve ever felt like screaming into your N95 mask and leaving the system for another career—literally ANY other career—you’re not alone. You’re not crazy. And you’re definitely not “too sensitive.” You’re just finally seeing clearly.
