Hey, I’m Dan.
I’m a Physician Assistant with 10 years of experience in urgent care and primary care. I’m also a dad, a husband, a nature junkie, and a personal trainer who believes movement is medicine—and sometimes the only thing keeping me sane.
Over the years, I’ve burned out more times than I can count. Each crash cracked the illusion a little more. Each recovery peeled back another layer of the veil. Until eventually, I couldn’t unsee it:
The system isn’t broken. It’s functioning exactly as it was designed—just not for people like us.
As a chronic people pleaser, my metamorphosis has been about being truly honest with myself and reconnecting with what actually feeds my soul: stillness, connection, sweat, sunlight, occasional exploration of psychedelics, and a whole lot of unlearning.
I plan to write about the messy, sacred work of waking up—especially for healthcare workers, helpers, and healers who’ve been running on fumes. I’m passionate about mental health and calling out the sickness baked into our systems with compassion and a little well-earned sarcasm.
This space isn’t about fixing you. It’s about freeing you.
Welcome to Scrubbed In, Checked Out. You’re not alone. And you’re definitely not the problem.
